Tree Line exhibition at HARC – workshop opportunity
The next exhibition at HARC will be an artistic one with an emphasis on trees. One of the artists, Helen Arthur, whose work has been exhibited at HARC before, would like to run a free workshop for any of our volunteers who would like to take part. Helen has sent this message:
Helen Arthur is co-curating the Treelines exhibition, launching 5 August in HARC foyer, and would like to offer a short creative workshop to HARC members and volunteers using a printmaking method. You don’t have to be able to draw or have any experience – just a bit of curiosity and a willingness to get inky.
We will be working over black and white photographs or printouts on transparent drypoint plates sized 15cm x 20cm with etching tools (like drawing). Helen will provide some ideas or you could bring an image or sketch you’d like to work from to fit the format exactly this size. Ideal subject matter for this process is quite detailed – the trees in the Treelines Exhibition work perfectly, as do insects, small birds and foliage.
The workshop will take place on Friday 8 August, 10am – 1pm
Helen will provide all other materials and a printing press of course.
Do wear older clothes or bring an apron/old shirt as an overall.
